10 Top Librarians to Follow on Twitter

If you’re not into the world of librarians yet, you will be after you check out this list. Follow some of the top individuals on Twitter to learn a thing or two about the librarian world and all of the interesting adventures in between with these Twitter Top 10.
1. Mike McQueen –This is a librarian that has put his talents and interests to the test. He has created and founded a website, called Getting Boys to Read, that serves as a mentoring program centered on books. So he is truly passionate about his role as a librarian.
2. Judy O’Connell – Judy’s mission is to transform libraries and the entire face of education. She is a head librarian and has a unique point of view and some excellent knowledge of “all things library”. She has some great chats with other librarians and is just generally very interesting to watch as she is so full of knowledge.
3. DMcordell - It says it all when you see that this is a librarian that is also a lifelong learner. Not only does she take great pride in her role as a librarian, but she has a very real perspective as a wife and mother as well. She speaks of her adventures in teaching and within the library walls and generally just has some rather interesting things to say that make her worthy of following.
4. Amy Librarian - You can tell immediately when you check out this page that you are dealing with a true librarian. She is a “book nut” and serves as an academic librarian which is more than a career for her. She is fascinated with the Millenium student and you can follow her adventures in the library that brings her so much fascination.
5. Kenley Neufeld – What makes this particular librarian so very interesting is not just his profession and personality, but also his interest with social networking. He calls himself “obsessed” with the social web and all things related. He is a very real person to follow and though he focuses on his librarian role, he also speaks of being a father and just generally a human being.
6. Andy Morton – This is a man who understands what it truly is to be a librarian and many of his posts center around his job. He serves as a librarian at the University of Richmond, and has gathered many interesting experiences to share in the twenty-eight years he has been there.
7. Greg Hardin – Here’s an academic librarian who has a very loyal following, many of whom are also librarians or in related positions. He is a professed music lover so while he does spend much time speaking of books and libraries in general, you just might find something a bit offbeat and intriguing amongst his posts.
8. Jess Nevins –You will not only find a librarian on this page, but also a true maverick in the field. This individual serves as a writer as well, and interestingly enough writes for encyclopedias–so the knowledge contained is vast and interesting to keep tabs on.
